PRE- WAXING CARE:
-Hair should be quarter of an inch in length or two weeks of growth after shaving before your wax.
-Try not to drink any caffeine or alcohol 2 hours before your appointment, this can cause heightened sensitivity.
-Exfoliate with a sugar scrub, exfoliating gloves, and/or PFB vanish. This removes any dead skin cells and helps the hair come out easier.
-You may take Ibuprofen 30 to 45 minutes before your wax, this can help with pain and inflammation.
-No tanning 48 hours before your waxing appointment, this can cause “lifting” of the skin. If you absolutely have to, please put a towel over the area to be waxed.
-You may use numbing creams such as No Scream Cream or Amber Easy Wax Numbing Cream. For these products to work, following the directions is a must.
POST- WAXING CARE for 24-48 HOURS AFTER WAXING:
-No tanning! The waxed areas can burn very easily.
-No exercising, no hot tubs or saunas, or tight clothing i.e. thongs, tights, exercise pants. The sweat from these activities can cause ingrown hairs!
-You should start exfoliating 24 hours after your wax. This helps prevent ingrown hairs. Use a sugar scrub and/or exfoliating gloves, in conjunction with PFB Vanish or other ingrown hair serums. Exfoliate 3 to 5 times a week.
-Taking an anti- histamine, such as Benadryl, will help with redness/ bumps.
-You CANNOT wax if you are using Retin-A, Accutane, chemical peels, or other topical prescription medications. These products can cause the skin to “lift”, sometimes resulting in temporary scabbing. Please let your esthetician know if you are using any of these products, as they may be able to alternatively tweeze the area instead of waxing.
-No shaving in between waxing, this will effect the growth cycle of the hair and you will not be able to achieve the full benefit of waxing.
-Brazilian and bikini waxing services can still be performed during your monthly cycle, we just ask that you wear a tampon. This can also cause heightened sensitivity.
-Pregnant women can continue to be waxed during the entirety of their pregnancy, unless advised other wise by their doctor. Pregnancy can cause heightened sensitivity and a higher chance of bruising along the bikini line due to the extra blood flow in that region.
-4 to 6 weeks is a good time frame in between waxes. This goes for any part of the body.
18-24 Hrs prior to session:
-It is important to exfoliate with gentle spa grade exfoliants designed for sunless tan preparation.
Day of Session:
-Do not apply deodorant, perfume, body oils or moisturizer to the skin (unless advised by your tanning professional) as this can create an uneven tan.
-Wear dark, loose fitting cotton clothing and flip flops to your spray tanning appointment to avoid visual rub off or staining of your clothing.
After Session Care:
-No showering within 8-10 hrs.
-Avoid any activity that would cause sweating. Contact with water or sweat could result in lines or uneven tanning.
-If you choose to sleep in your spray tan, wear a long sleeve cotton shirt and long cotton bottoms.
-The life of your spray tan depends on how well you take care of your skin. It is important to always pat dry when exiting the shower.
-Moisturize twice a day.
– To extend your tan, moisturize once a day with a tan extender lotion. It can add 2-3 days to the life of your tan.
-If at all possible, you should try to avoid contact with chlorine. This can lead to premature fading of spray tan.
EYELASH EXTENSION CARE:
Day Of Appointment:
-Remove contact lenses at your appointment
First 24 Hours:
-Keep away from moisture.
-Avoid using mascara and makeup removers.
-No contact with water.
After 24 Hours:
-Use only water based makeup removers.
-Refrain from rubbing your eyes and lashes.
-If you are going to use mascara, it needs to be a mascara made specifically for eyelash extensions. Do not use mascara everyday. This weakens the bond between your natural lash and the extension.
-Never use an eyelash curler on your lash extensions!
-Be gentle on lashes if using contacts.
