PRE- WAXING CARE:
-Hair should be quarter of an inch long or two weeks of growth after shaving before your wax.
-Try not to drink any caffeine or alcohol 2 hours before, this can cause more sensitivity.
-Exfoliate with a scrub, exfoliating gloves, or PFB vanish. This takes off any dead skin cells and helps the hair come out better which mean less painful for you!
-Ibuprofen 45 minutes to 1 hour before your wax, helps with pain and inflammation.
-No tanning 24-48 hours before, this can cause “lifting” of the skin. If you have absolutely have to, put a towel over the area.
-Can use numbing creams such as No Scream Cream or PFB Vanish. For these to work, following the directions is a must.
POST- WAXING CARE for 24-48 HOURS AFTER WAXING:
-No tanning! The waxed areas can burn very easily.
-No exercising, no hot tubs or saunas, or tight clothing i.e. thongs, tights, exercise pants. The sweat from these activities can cause ingrowns! Just like the face, the bacteria in sweat that can cause zits, cause ingrowns !
-Wait 24 hours after waxing, start exfoliating! This helps with ingrowns. Use a scrub, gloves or PFB vanish serum. Helps to get in the habit of doing this every shower, or at least the first week after your waxing. If you do not exfoliate, you are more than likely to get an ingrown.
-Taking an anti- histamine, such as Benadryl, will help with redness/ bumps.
-CANNOT wax if you are using Retin-A, Accutane, or use of chemical peels, this can “lift” the skin resulting in scabbing.
-No shaving in between waxing, this will mess up the growth cycle of the hair and you will not be able to achieve the benefit of waxing.
-I do wax if you are on your period, but warned it is more painful.
-Rebook your waxing in 4 to 6 weeks, this goes for the whole body.
